Will Prem in the frames work?
Some things change and some things don’t. Sooraj Barjatya stands witness to the adage. Come Friday and his latest flick Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon releases worldwide (in sadi city, it’s Nirman and KC, Panchkula). Known for his patented brand of ‘family that eats together, sings together... stays together’ kind of parivarik filmein, MPKDH sees Barjataya opting out for a cinematic revamp.
1x1 polls
Having done away with his original blue-eyed boy Salman Khan who has been eulogized as Bollywood’s most-loved Prem (Prem Chopra sir, please forgive us) and music director Ram Laxman, Soorajji (as he is fondly called) has chosen Hrithik Roshan and Anu Malik as his most wanted for this summer flick.
The four other new additions in the film are Kareena Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, a dog and a parrot who (would you believe it) talks only Hindi films. Though the film’s basic plot is borrowed from an old Rajshri classic, Chitchor, it has been given a passionate romantic spin.
As expected, there are two Prems and Sanjana (Kareena Kapoor’s character) has to choose one.
While Hrithik’s Prem symbolises sentimentality, Aby’s baby is all about practicality. So whom does Sanjana choose? Does she even have to, considering she is toh Prem (the emotion) ki diwani! Only Sooraj Barjatya has the answers!
